The lovely Lucia

Inky is quite simply a little sweetheart and will be greatly missed but we are limited to whom we can mate her to and need to make way for this years cria. She has a beautiful fine fleece with uniform of colour and uniform crimp. Her fleece handle is light and soft with lustre. This is a quality female with dark and grey genetics Inky is an easy girl to handle and walks well on the halter. Good home is a priority.

Zoie

Zoie is a huge upstanding girl with a solid frame and masses of presence. Her fleece is buttery soft to handle with good density and lustre. A super alpaca for fleece production. She is a lovely girl who enjoys her food and will happily munch from a bowl while you stroke her beautiful fleece and walks well on the halter. Zoie will be a great addition to any herd and can be sold as part of a package.

Jophiel

This is a very hard sale as this little female is such a beautiful character and will be a great addition to any herd. Unfortunately we are limited with whom we can mate her to and need to make way for this years crop of cria . She has a solid frame frame with a true to type classic head. Her fleece is fine, dense with a uniform of colour and a good amount of long fibre. This female is packed with classic genetics including her grandsire being Toft Timogen.

Rosaline

Rosaline is such a wonderful character. She has bred me 4 outstanding cria and has a very dominant black linage to her genetics. Although registered dark brown, her fleece is very fine and uniform black in colour and she has produced two true black cria. She has a solid frame, with true to type head and produces predominantly dark coloured cria. Last years cria is true black throughout his blanket with a striking grey patch on his neck .

Twinkle Toes

This young female is such a delight to own, she has a gentle nature like her Dam and is very easy to do in all ways. She has a beautiful fine fleece with plenty of density, good colour uniformity and a comfort factor of 93.8 .She is a very smart and upright female with a good strong frame and oozes presence. This girl will be sadly missed as is such a lovable character but we need to make way for this years cria. Tincy is sold with a free mating to one of our stud males.

Benefits of owning Alpacas (and why you should consider buying from us)

Having worked with horses whilst running a riding school, produced them from youngsters, reschooled problem horses as well as having worked at a racing yard, there is so much work and time involved. In addition, there is always a risk element which is one area where alpaca are so easy to deal with in comparison.

The preparation that goes into getting an alpaca show worthy is minimal compared to horses and other livestock. People of all ages and even those from non animal backgrounds can soon learn how to handle and look after alpacas with the right guidance .Producing alpaca for their fleece, to show or to keep as pets is fun and very rewarding .

Whethers (castrated males) are attractive pets who can also guard your chickens and sheep from small predators such as foxes. They will provide you with a fleece every year and can be easily trained to the halter. The boys in particular are very neat and tidy with poo piles that they will walk all the way across the paddock to get to rather than just poo on the spot.

Females can also be halter trained but not to be walked or bothered with if pregnant. They are popular for hobby breeders just to cover the costs along with the enjoyment of having cria to rear.

Alpaca can be a serious business/investment. Breeding quality alpaca to show and sell is becoming increasingly popular with great returns being made.

Alpaca fleece is luxurious, warm, hard wearing and very versatile. Alpaca fibre is very light and unlike sheep wool, it contains no lanolin so it is much finer and softer and is virtually hypo-allergenic so can be worn comfortably against the skin. The blanket (otherwise known as the firsts) is used for luxurious garments and home accessories whilst the 2nds and 3rds which come from the neck ,rump, legs and belly are great for stuffing quilt or pillows and even houses as insulation.

Our reasons for purchasing alpaca to farm rather than the more traditional livestock is that we are not traditional! We would be useless at rearing animals which would ultimately aimed for a dinner plate.
